Check out the video below explaining the mission of Wings Over Haiti.

The first trip that my daughter Carina and I took to Haiti in July 2010 where we helped knock down a school damaged by the earthquake.  These are two of the many children that helped us clear the rubble.

The school opened in for 35 children in October 2010 with a solar powered building.  Below is a picture of the compost pile started by the family of a child at the school.

Carina returned in December 2010 to start planning solar cooking, composting and teaching the children when she volunteers for the next school year.  Maria visited in February 2011 to organize donations for the families, train teachers to teach in centers with manipulatives, assess the children's learning.  Dr. Patricia from Sean Penn's Hospital performed health screenings for 125 children and their families.  Wings Over Haiti has purchased 2 acres of property where a well has been drilled and plans are in place to enlarge the school and build a health clinic.  All of this work is possible due to Melissa McMullan's organizational skills, Jonathan Glynn's persistence to get medical attention and food to the children and Shad St Louis' ingenuity in blending the  best aspects of his native Haitian and American cultures.
Below is a video of when we knocked down the school in July.  The children in Haiti sang this song with Carina.

I have just returned from my 5th trip to Haiti and am pleased at the number of improvements in such a short time.  The children have clean water to drink, medical care, food and education.  The parents are volunteering to cook, sew, garden and build the new school.  There is still more work to do.  Below is a picture of a river that 9 children cross each day to attend school.  Funds need to be raised to build the new school and community center, plus cows and chickens need to be purchased to allow for more self sustenance.  Carina has moved to Haiti and makes regular visits to the homes of the children to check on their living conditions and health concerns.  Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!  Below is a picture of Carina carrying a student across the river that many have to cross to get to school.
